Ouachita National Forest

The Horsethief Spring Trail begins at Cedar Lake and loops through many different small streams before connecting with the Ouachita National Recreation Trail.  This 7 miles ascent will be challenging for the novice rider.  Often we will novice shuttle riders up to the the Spring at the top of the mountain by way of road 6014.  This makes for a fun yet still challenging ride back to Cedar Lake.  Trail has some creek crossings, and some rocky areas, and some areas that have been damaged by illegal horseback riding on the trail. Several option for loops utilizing the Horsethief Spring Trail, Road 6014 and the Equestrian Trails.
