Finding Camping Gear for Cheap
We all love the outdoors. The smell of wet earth, fallen leaves and fresh growth draws us to the
woods and inspires us to reconnect with nature. The best way to do this is through camping. I am
not talking about sleeping in a camper or a recreational vehicle. I am talking about pulling out the
camping tents and setting down stakes. Of course, you only want to camp in designated and approved areas, but you don't even need to think about that until you gather up your supplies.
How can you get good camping supplies without breaking the bank?
The first thing you should do is find a reputable online store that offers camping tents for sale. Tents are one area that you really don't want to skimp. I can't tell you how many times I have picked up
tents at yard sales and off websites like Craigslist that have holes or are missing half of their pieces. It's best to get a quality model from a trusted store.
For everything else, I suggest scouting yard sales and Craigslist. There are a lot of people out there
who buy great camping gear, use it once and realize that camping isn't for them. I have snagged
some great camping gear for cheap at yard sales. My favorite camping grill was used a couple
times and then kept in a basement for years until I snagged it. One of the nicest things about good
camping gear, it stands up to the test of time well. I do suggest yard sales over Craigslist simply
because you can test the items and get your hands on them before you buy. It really stinks to get a
lantern or a self-inflating sleeping roll in the mail only to find out that it doesn't work. I like to check everything over and haggle before I buy.
